SCHOOL WEBSITES · AUSTRALIA

School websites, built for how Australian schools actually run.

Four terms, not two semesters. A canteen the P&C banks separately. An enrolment season with its own calendar. A website platform that does not know any of that leaves the work exactly where it was — in somebody's inbox.

The parts a general-purpose website builder has never heard of.

A school can be put on any website platform. What it cannot do there is run the things that make it a school.

Data that stays in Australia

Australian servers, and a separate database per school rather than one shared table with a column saying which school a row belongs to. School data is not used to train AI models. This is the first page a department IT officer opens, so it is written for them.

Four terms, one grid

Lay out the whole year in one place. Each row carries its own audience, so a staff-only pupil-free day never reaches parents while a swimming carnival reaches everyone. Publish the term and the website updates itself — and the year planner still prints.

Events and term planning

The canteen, including a P&C one

Online ordering, a point-of-sale terminal for the counter, and allergy tracking. A canteen run by the P&C is a separate legal entity that banks separately, and the platform treats it that way — its takings go to its own account rather than the school’s.

Enrolment, from first enquiry to accepted

Enquiries, tours, interviews and offers tracked as a pipeline rather than a shared inbox, with the contact details of a family behind their own permission. Families get one portal rather than a chain of emailed links.

Enrolment and admissions

A campus tour that is open at 11pm

Families decide about a school on a phone after the children are in bed. A 360° walkthrough built from the school’s own photography is open at exactly that hour, on the school’s own domain rather than a vendor’s.

Virtual tours

Your domain, or a free one to start

Point an existing school domain at the platform and the SSL certificate is provisioned and renewed for you. A school without one — or not ready to move it yet — can start on a free subdomain and change over later without losing its links.

What is included

Four questions worth asking every vendor, including us.

A school website is a five-year decision made in an afternoon. These are the questions that turn out to matter, and they are worth putting to whoever else is on your shortlist.

Who owns the content?
The school does. That should be in writing before you sign, from us or from anyone else.
What happens if we leave?
The site runs on your domain, not ours, so leaving is a move rather than a rebuild. Ask for the exit terms in writing — a vendor who will not put them in writing is telling you something.
Can our staff run it?
That is the whole design brief. If a newsletter change needs a support ticket, the site is stale by week six.
What does it replace?
Usually several separate subscriptions — the website, the newsletter tool, the canteen system, the form builder, the ticketing. That comparison is normally where the real number is.

Frequently asked questions

Where is our school’s data stored?

On Australian servers, and your school has its own separate database rather than a shared table with a column for which school a row belongs to. School data is not used to train AI models. Security has the detail your IT department will want before anything is signed.

Can we keep our existing school domain?

Yes. Point your current domain at SchoolWeb and the site runs on it, with the SSL certificate provisioned and renewed automatically. Schools that do not have a domain, or do not want to manage one yet, can start on a free subdomain and move later.

Do you work with public schools?

Yes, with tailored pricing for public schools and districts. Get in touch and we will quote for your school rather than point you at a plan table.

Does it understand Australian school terms?

The term planner lays out all four terms in one grid, and each row carries its own audience — so a staff-only pupil-free day never reaches parents while a carnival reaches everyone. Publish the term and the website updates itself, and the year planner still prints.

Can it run the canteen and the P&C side of things?

Canteen ordering, a point-of-sale terminal for the counter, and allergy tracking are all part of the platform, switched on only if your school runs them. A canteen run by the P&C banks separately, and the platform handles that — its takings go to its own account, not the school’s.

If we leave, do we take the site and the data with us?

The school owns its content and its data, and the site runs on the school’s own domain rather than ours — so leaving is a move, not a hostage negotiation. Ask us for the exit terms in writing before you sign anything; a vendor who will not put them in writing is telling you something.

Tell us the size of your school and which of it you want to run on the website. We will quote for that, rather than point you at a plan table built for somebody else.
